This month, we’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on Catherine, whose dedication inspires our entire Catalyst Fitness community! From balancing family life to showing up consistently at the gym, Catherine embodies dedication, motivation, and discipline.
Catherine is a licensed clinical social worker who enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Outside of family life, she has a passion for fitness. She has competed in triathlons, marathons, and 5Ks, with even more races planned in the months ahead. At Catalyst Fitness, Catherine stays active by participating in a variety of classes, including Barre, Yoga, Spin, Pilates & Shred, Zumba, Triathlon Training, and Les Mills BodyPump.
One of Catherine’s favorite classes is Kara’s Triathlon Training class. During the 9-week program, she saw significant improvements, especially in her FTP test results. Catherine says Kara created challenging workouts while maintaining a fun and supportive environment that helped her build both strength and confidence.
Another class Catherine loves is Les Mills BodyPump. She has seen her strength grow tremendously. Catherine started squatting with 15 pounds and has worked her way up to 50 pounds. Catherine noted she sees and feels the difference in both her strength and endurance.
For Catherine, working out has had a powerful impact on her overall well-being, both physically and mentally. Staying active, pushing past limits, and being part of a supportive community have all played a major role in her journey. She describes it as an incredible shift:
“When you go from someone who can find all the reasons why ‘I can’t,’ to becoming the person who finds all the reasons and ways to say ‘yes, I can.’”
While Catherine initially joined the gym to lose weight, that goal quickly became secondary to the many positive changes she experienced. Setting challenging goals and achieving them has been truly transformative in her fitness journey.
A personal guiding principle that keeps Catherine motivated is:
“If you don’t take care of yourself, no one is going to do it for you. Sometimes it’s okay to put yourself first.”
Taking her own advice, Catherine is focused on improving her 5K time, increasing her mile speed, and continuing to build strength through lifting.
Her advice for anyone thinking about starting their fitness journey:
“Get past the fear and uncertainty and just start somewhere. Everyone here meets you where you’re at. It’s truly a judgment-free zone, you’re here, and that’s what matters.”
Thank you, Catherine, for being an inspiration to all of us at Catalyst Fitness. Congratulations on being our Member of the Month. Keep up the amazing work!
