Meet Catalyst Fitness Member of the Month, John! John has been a Catalyst Fitness member since 2012 and is a true model of consistency and dedication. At 76 years old, he continues to train five days a week and run 3-5 miles at least five days a week. John’s fitness journey began during his time in the military, and he has carried that discipline with him ever since.
Outside of the gym, John enjoys rock climbing and golfing. John shares his passion for fitness with his family. Both his son and daughter are Catalyst Fitness members. You’ll often find John training at our Broadway, Maple, or Wehrle locations, challenging himself and even pushing his strength further with exercises like tire flips and sled pushes.
With over 52 years of running experience, he averages 12,000–18,000 steps per day and maintains an impressive streak of at least 30 minutes of activity every day for 2,752 consecutive days. John values the physical and mental benefits fitness provides. John says staying active keeps him mentally sharp, while also helping him feel stronger and more energized.
Over the course of his running journey, John’s greatest accomplishment is completing six marathons, including the New York City Marathon as his most recent. John’s fitness journey is powered by the saying, “Just do it.” Even on days when motivation is low, he focuses on showing up and getting it done.
John describes Catalyst Fitness as his “home away from home,” sharing that “you don’t want to leave.” We are grateful to have John as part of the Catalyst Fitness community and for the positivity, hard work, and dedication he brings every day.
