Congratulations to Catalyst Fitness Group Exercise Director, Ellen Coleman, on an incredible 30 years of group exercise instruction. For three decades, Ellen has inspired, motivated, and supported countless members on their fitness journeys, creating a lasting impact throughout the Catalyst Fitness community.
Ellen’s journey as an instructor began with a simple observation. While attending fitness classes, a manager noticed her strong voice and natural presence and suggested she consider teaching. What started as a casual recommendation quickly became a 30-year passion.
For Ellen, group exercise has always been about more than fitness. It’s about building connections, creating a welcoming environment, and helping people feel like they belong. Over the years, her classes have become a second family with a place filled of encouragement, support, and shared success.
Her philosophy is simple: fitness should be enjoyable. While helping members become stronger and healthier, Ellen believes it’s just as important to create an atmosphere where people can laugh, have fun, and feel comfortable being themselves.
After 30 years of teaching, Ellen has collected countless memories, but one of her favorites took place on Halloween when a member came dressed up as her with a complete suit, microphone, and hat. It’s a moment that perfectly reflects the special relationships she has built throughout her career.
What Ellen treasures most is watching members discover their own strength and confidence. Whether it’s reaching a fitness goal, mastering a new exercise, or simply believing in themselves a little more, she loves seeing people accomplish things they once thought were out of reach.
One of the most rewarding aspects of her career has been witnessing members grow through every stage of life. Many have attended her classes for years, embracing new workouts, challenges, and goals alongside her. The bonds formed within her classes extend far beyond the workout floor and have developed into lifelong friendships.
After three decades, Ellen’s enthusiasm for teaching remains as strong as ever.
“I enjoy it just as much today as I did when I first started.”
When asked what continues to inspire her after 30 years, her answer is immediate: the people.
The energy, laughter, and connections shared in every class continue to fuel her passion. She loves creating an experience that gives members not only a great workout, but also an hour of enjoyment in their day.
Her advice to members is simple:
“Always try something new. Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone, whether it’s taking a new class, trying a new machine, or simply saying hello to someone new. You never know where it might lead.”
As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we thank Ellen for everything she has done for the Catalyst Fitness community. From leading group exercise classes and personal training sessions to organizing events and giving back to the community, her dedication has touched countless lives.
Ellen, thank you for the energy, passion, positivity, and encouragement you have shared over the past 30 years. Your impact is immeasurable, and we are honored to celebrate this achievement with you and look forward to the years to come!
